'Alzheimer's Disease International Global Conference'
Truly Excited to share that I have been invited to speak at this year’s ‘Alzheimer’s Disease International Global Conference’ on the theme of ‘Dementia Insights, Innovations, Inspirations’.
I am also delighted to be accompanied by one of our experts with lived experience from our ‘Memory Hub’.
Did you know that people of African descent in the UK are at a 22% greater risk of developing dementia disease than their white friends and neighbors, and dying at younger ages as a result? (UCL 2022).
Sadly, a major barrier for many in receiving effective person-centered care is the ‘cultural gap’ that exists between themselves and their professional health care partners.
In my presentation, ‘Bridging the Gap – Technology Facilitated African & Caribbean Reminiscence in Dementia Care’ I will be highlighting culturally appropriate interventions whilst sharing recently developed digitally accessible heritage resources that serve as effective catalysts towards ensuring ‘meaningful engagements’.
Join Paola Barbarino, Dawn Brooker Chris Lynch Clarissa Giebel, PhD myself and so many more as we share insights, innovations and inspirations on combating dementia.
April 24/26th Krakow, Poland.
