‘Creating Spaces for People Living with Dementia - Developer Award’

Thrilled to announce that I have been shortlisted for the, ‘Creating Spaces for People Living with Dementia – Developer Award’ at the Dementia Care Awards 2024.

This award recognises developers who create innovative environments for those affected by dementia.

I am truly humbled by this recognition of our commitment in making a real-world difference, empowering people living with dementia to retain/regain independence and dignity, which is at the core of my innovations.

By reducing the reliance on institutional care, my innovative approaches enables individuals affected by dementia to remain integrated and/or reintegrate into their communities and family lives.

🚀 Providing Inter-Generational Activities.

🚀 Developing Culturally Appropriate Resources and Interventions.

🚀 Empowering and Enabling Caring Staff.

🚀 Reducing the Cultural Gap between Care Workers and Residents.

🚀 Increasing ‘Meaningful Engagements’.

The key to such meaningful engagements for the so many compassionate, committed, and caring staff lies in, ‘Dementia Intelligence’.

As I continually highlight.

‘Once one knows how to engage in a culturally meaningful way, and have access to appropriate resources, it’s not rocket science.’

‘Nuff Thanx’ to the support that I have received from; all of the Members and colleagues of Sheffield Memory Hub that have been involved in the co- production along with; SACMHA Health & Social Care, The Dementia Trust, Historic England, People’s Postcode Lottery.

Check Out some of the resources and interventions developed and currently in development.
